Our Reserve Semillon 2025 has been awarded Gold and 95 points at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2026. The IWSC is one of the world's most respected wine competitions, and this result puts a Wilyabrup Semillon among the best white wines judged this year.
The season
2025 was one of the best vintages in recent memory. A wet winter filled the soils, a warm, dry summer ripened the fruit evenly, and the afternoon sea breezes kept it fresh. We picked on 20 February with the fruit in pristine condition.
The vineyard
The fruit comes from our own vines, planted in 1976. They sit on east-facing gravel loam and have never been irrigated. Dry-grown vines this age crop lightly, just 2.5 tonnes a hectare in 2025, and that concentration is in the glass.
The winemaking
The fruit was hand-picked, crushed, destemmed and lightly pressed. We kept only the free-run juice. It was wild fermented in barrel and matured in 60% new French oak. The oak gives the wine shape and structure without taking over the fruit.
In the glass
Bright melon and crisp pear sit alongside fresh citrus. The palate is generous and soft, in the style of a top-level Bordeaux Blanc. Toasty honey and a salty tang carry the finish, keeping the richness lively and refreshing.
When to drink it
This is a wine for long spring afternoons, on the verandah or at the table. It will also reward time in the cellar.
The Reserve Semillon 2025 is available now at the cellar door and online, delivered Australia-wide. RRP $55
